A visa applicant’s English language ability plays a very important role in certain visa applications. In Australia, the only English tests accepted for migration purposes are International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Occupational English Test (OET). IELTS is the most common and preferred English language test for applicants whose occupation does not require an OET test, and is now the accepted standard for assessing migration visa applications. The IELTS test is conducted on a worldwide basis and is administered in Australia by a number of tertiary institutions, and in overseas countries by the British Council. It is composed of 4 components, reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Getting a high score in the IELTS Test can make or break your visa application and preparation is very important in order to achieve your goal score. The cost of taking the IELTS English test is $330 and there is no limit as to how many times you can sit on the test (but who would want to waste precious $).
